TUCSON, Ariz. -- Three rabid skunks have been found in Pinal County.

Skunks are one of the greatest risks of spreading rabies because they can give it to your pet who potentially could give it to you.

"Domesticated animals are like the closest link between humans and wild animals wish are more common to have rabies so if we vaccinate our pets we not only protect them but also ourselves from rabies virus," said Jenison Silva of the Humane Society of Southern Arizona.

The Humane Society recommends keeeping rabies vaccinations current and call Pima Animal Care if your cat or dog is bitten or scratched by a wild animal.
