FBI seeks 'Castaway Bandit' in series of bank robberies

PHOENIX -- The FBI's Bank Robbery Task Force is asking for the public's help in identifying the "Castaway Bandit."

Special Agent in Charge Nathan Gray said the suspect is wanted in three robberies in the past two weeks.

On March 10, he robbed the First Fidelity Bank at 74th Street and Camelback Road in Scottsdale. On March 16, he robbed the First Credit Union near Chandler Boulevard and Kyrene Road in Chandler. On March 21, he robbed TCF Bank at Cooper and Ray roads in Chandler.

In each robbery, the suspect presented a teller a note demanding money.

The suspect is described as a white male, 27 to 30 years old, 180 pounds and 6 feet to 6 feet 3 inches tall. He has worn a white "Gilligan"-style hat, gloves and dark sunglasses or large white framed sunglasses.
