PHOENIX – A woman was killed in a wreck involving a motorcycle and a vehicle in Phoenix.

Police responded to the crash scene just before 5 p.m. Saturday near 43rd Avenue and Bell Road after receiving reports of a collision with serious injuries.

A man and woman were traveling eastbound on Bell Road on a 1995 Harley Davidson motorcycle when police say a driver failed to yield and made a left-hand turn in front of the victims.

Kimmy Chapman, 55, was killed and an unidentified man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. He is listed in critical condition.

Police say neither person was wearing a helmet.

Investigators say the 22-year-old driver of the vehicle was not impaired at the time of the crash. He is not expected to be charged because he wasn't negligent.

Chapman was the publisher and editor of the "Biker Information Guide." She was well-known throughout the biking community in Phoenix.
