PHOENIX -- A 30-year-old man died when a pickup truck collided with a dump truck on the Interstate 17 access road north of Dixileta Drive Friday morning.
At approximately 6 a.m., Rigoberto B. Meneses was driving northbound in a Ford F250, which was hauling landscape debris inside a 20-foot trailer, according to Phoenix police Sgt. Steve Martos.
Police believe Meneses was negotiating a turn when he collided with an Isuzu dump truck traveling in the opposite direction.
He was declared dead at the scene. The passenger sustained minor injuries.
The 35-year-old driver of the Isuzu also sustained minor injuries.
Martos said speed is believed to be a factor in the collision.
