More electric car chargers coming to TucsonPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- For drivers planning on getting an electric car, there soon will be more places in Tucson to charge it.
Eco-tality announced a $230 million Department of Energy backed project to install infrastructure for electric vehicles.
"The majority of our air pollution is caused by motor vehicle use so almost 60% of air pollution, so anytime we can reduce those tail pipes emmissions that are coming out of our vehicles we can have cleaner air for everybody to breath," said Beth Gorman of the Pima Co. Dept of Environmental Quality.
By the end of the year, they want 15,000 chargers in garages and public locations.
