Students protest Arizona education cutsPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- A group of University of Arizona students rallied in front of the administration building to fight the millions of dollars expected to be cut at the university level.
Last week the state senate released its budget and it included more than $230 million in cuts to the state's universities.
The Arizona Students Association organized the student rally on campus and they plan to take their concerns to Governor Jan Brewer.
"Students sent a letter to Gov. Brewer letting her know that $235 million is a ridiculous number and its going to make education in accessible for Arizonans and Arizonan families," said Elma Delic of the Arizona Students Association.
If the state senate's plan is signed by the governor, the University of Arizona would have to make more then $90 million in cuts to the budget.
