Nearly 1-million drop-side cribs affected in reissued recallPosted: Updated:
The Consumer Product Safety Commission has reissued a 2008 recall of nearly 1-million drop-side cribs, manufactured by Delta Enterprise Corporation.
The reissued recall was prompted by the death of a 7-month-old girl from Colorado Springs, Colorado in early 2011.
The cribs were sold nationwide at major retail stores including K-Mart and Target between January 1995 and December 2005.
Delta Enterprise Corp. says missing safety pegs can create a situation where the crib’s drop-side rail disengages from the track, creating a dangerous gap where an infant can become entrapped and suffocate.
The original 2008 recall came when an 8-month-old girl suffocated when the drop-side of the crib detached.
