PHOENIX – A boy is in extremely critical condition after being struck by a car in Phoenix.
Police say the 8-year-old was with his mother and another child when he reportedly darted out into the street and was hit by a car near 32st Street and Yale on Friday night.
The driver of the Lincoln town car was traveling at normal speeds and remained at the scene after the boy was struck.
"The police department has taken interviews and statements from everybody including the driver to the nature of the incident but the stories are all adding up the same," Capt. Tony Mure said.
The boy was seriously injured and taken to the hospital. It is unclear whether the driver faces any charges.
