PEORIA, Ariz. - A murder suspect turned himself in to Peoria police after eluding authorities for about a week.

Alex Ramirez, 21, turned himself in to detectives Thursday morning.

On March 17, a tip led Peoria police to an apartment complex near 83rd Avenue and Madison Street, indicating a body was inside a closet in an apartment.

Detectives discovered the body of Jermarr Preston, 23.

Tips then led police to three suspects. Elizabeth Porras, 27, and Monique Lazo, 25, were arrested Thursday evening in the area of 23rd Avenue and Butler Drive in Phoenix.

Ramirez was accompanied by several relatives when he surrendered.

The three are facing homicide charges. Ramirez was also booked on charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault, kidnapping and simple assault.
