PHOENIX – A Phoenix man was among two killed in Juarez, Mexico during a shooting at a family reunion.
Josue Reyes Castro, 26, was a resident of Phoenix, according to Chihuahua officials. Also killed was Miguel Angel Martinez Varela, 36, who lived in Juarez.
Authorities say five family members were at a home near Rosales and Madera Street Thursday night when gunmen opened fire.
Four of the five individuals were shot and the victims were taken to the hospital by other family members where two of them died. The severity of the injuries sustained by the other two victims is unknown.
Police in Juarez reportedly recovered 130 bullets from the crime scene and say they came from two different weapons.
Also found at the crime scene were a white Ford Expedition with a Juarez license plate and a 2000 Dodge Durango with an Arizona license plate.
