PHOENIX -- Stars from all around are rolling into the Valley for a big event Saturday night at the JW Marriott at Desert Ridge!

It’s the 17th Annual Celebrity Fight Night honoring the one and only Muhammad Ali. The stage and the red carpet were being set up early Friday morning for the event.

Fight Night is recognized as one of the Valley’s and the nation’s most elite charity events. Celebrities and athletes come together to participate in a night of fun and fundraising for The Champ and his fight to find a cure for Parkinson’s disease, which Ali has been fighting for several years.

Recently, Ali and his wife founded the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix. The center is expected to expand thanks to the proceeds from Fight Night.

“Celebrity Fight Night is proud to be a major reason why the center can expand and include anything a Parkinson’s patient could possibly need in one world-class facility,” said Sean Currie, executive director of Celebrity Fight Night. “Thanks to the participation of many of today’s biggest stars from around the country, as well as some of the nation’s biggest philanthropists, the upcoming event will be bigger and better than ever.”

Over the past 16 years, the event has raised more than $60 million. Some of big names on the star-studded guest list include Reba McEntire, Halle Berry, and Billy Crystal.

The finalists on this season’s “American Idol” are scheduled to perform this year.

There is some magnificent and unique food items on tap for the big event. The dessert includes a pair of edible gold chocolate boxing gloves in honor of The Champ.
