Over, 6,000 acres charred in wildfire near NogalesPosted: Updated:
NOGALES, Ariz. - Over 6,000 acres have been charred so far in a wildfire near Nogales that reaches across the border into Mexico.
Officials say the 60 firefighters are battling the blaze believed to be human-caused in the desert of the Coronado National Forest in southern Arizona.
The U.S. Forest Service says the fire burning 11 miles west of Nogales is expected to be fully contained by Thursday.
Crews did a burnout operation on the northeast corner of the fire to get rid of dead trees, brush and grass that could fuel the wildfire.
The Forest Service believes the potential for the fire to grow is low.
