TUCSON, Ariz. -- Two suspects in a Tuesday morning bank robbery are in custody and police are searching for a third. It was quick action by the police department that helped them locate the suspects.

Tucson police say two men robbed the Bank of the West, 3175 North Swan, at about 11 A.M. Employees at the bank told officers that the suspects fled on foot. However, TPD received a tip that the suspects were feeling in a car.

Officers followed the car for several blocks and tried to stop it at Broadway and Craycroft. The suspects then sped through the Target parking lot and were finally stopped on the east bound lane of Broadway and Williams Circle. The two men were then taken into custody without incident.

The Bank of the West has been robbed twice in a two-week period.

Police think a third suspect jumped from the car before it was caught and entered an apartment complex along Arcacia near Rincon High School.  TPD was unable to locate that man.

Police indicated the two robbers were both armed with a handgun.

The investigation is still underway.
