Tucson activists protest at state CapitolPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Resistance at the Capitol was the name of a demonstration at Wesley Bolin Plaza Monday.
Activists from Tucson converged on the Capitol to protest cuts to education and medicaid as well as what they call unjust immigration laws. The protesters wanted lawmakers to focus on what they say matters.
"I'm supporting the movement here to promote good policy over hate, and to promote the legislators finding the will to get a balanced budget and stop wasting their time on all this hate legislation," said protester Liz Houricane.
Demonstrators promise to turn out all week.
Monday's events were organized by Moving Arizona Forward.
