MESA, Ariz. -- Mesa police are looking for a suspect who took cash and phones from a Cricket store Wednesday night.

At approximately 6:45 p.m., the suspect entered the store near McKellips Road and Stapley Drive and began asking about phones while picking some up.

During the conversation, the suspect pulled out a handgun, pointed it toward the ground and demanded money, according to Detective Michael Melendez with the Mesa Police Department.

The suspect then reached over the counter and grabbed money from the cash register while the employee had it open.

Melendez said the suspect took some phones along with a couple hundred dollars.

He was last seen on foot heading east from the store.
