Autopsies released for victims in Giffords attack

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Almost exactly two months after the deadly shooting spree at the Safeway store on Oracle and Ina, the Pima County Medical Examiner released the autopsy reports on the six people fatally wounded in the attack on Congresswoman Giffords.

For many people, it was a special Saturday morning.  A chance for the public to speak one-on-one with a member of Congress.  But a half-dozen would never live to tell about it.

We now know one bullet claimed the life of Judge John Roll.  Staffer Gabe Zimmerman was shot once, with another bullet grazing his body.  The ME found Phyllis Schneck was hit once.  Dorwan Stoddard and 9-year-old Christina-Taylor Green each suffered one shot.  Only Dorothy Morris was hit twice.

The manner of death in each and every case has officially been ruled a homicide.

The autopsy findings will likely be used in court, and for that reason, the Medical Examiner has chosen to reserve his comments.
