Windy day ahead, much warmer weather comingPosted: Updated:
Watch for areas of blowing dust today as a cold front brings windy weather to Arizona.
The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for northern and eastern Arizona today until 8 p.m., and a Red Flag Warning is in effect for southeastern Arizona, including the Tucson area.
Dust was spotted during the morning commute in parts of the Valley, and winds are forecast to pick up throughout the day.
Expect winds out of the southwest this afternoon and evening between 15 and 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph possible.
The storm will bring a little rain and snow to northern and eastern Arizona, but it is likely that the deserts of the state, including the Valley, will stay dry.
Look for a high of 75 degrees today under partly cloudy skies. Tonight, we’ll be a bit cooler with windy conditions and overnight lows in the 40s and low 50s.
Tomorrow, we can expect partly sunny skies and highs in the low 70s, but much warmer weather is just around the corner.
The rest of the week ahead looks dry and warm, with mid-80s likely by the weekend.
