4 Stabbed in fight at Phoenix apartment

PHOENIX - Phoenix police are trying to locate a man suspected of stabbing four people early Saturday morning.

Just after 6:30 a.m., Phoenix police responded to a call of a fight between residents from two different apartment complexes near 23rd Avenue and Thomas Road.

At the same time, an off-duty Department of Public Safety officer working traffic control in a construction zone near Thomas Road and Interstate 17 observed a vehicle exit the apartment complex driving erratically and conducted a traffic stop.

The DPS officer found three Hispanic males inside the car. One man had sustained life-threatening stab wounds while the other two had minor injuries.

Phoenix police officers located an additional male victim who also sustained life-threatening stab wounds and was attempting to leave the area on foot.

Officers located the apartment where the altercation occurred, along with witnesses.

Investigators found the four Hispanic male victims were up all night in their apartment drinking. At some point early Saturday morning, an upstairs neighbor came down and an altercation turned violent.

The suspect produced a knife and stabbed all four victims. Two of the four victims sustained life-threatening injuries and are in critical condition at area hospitals.

The suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Investigators are still interviewing witnesses and trying to locate the suspect.
