Tucson teacher facing trespassing charges; Man arrested for trying to sell drugs near Palo Verde; Shooting Thursday afternoon

TUCSON, Ariz. -- A Tucson teacher is facing criminal trespassing charges, after getting arrested at the Tucson Safeway Store where Congresswoman Giffords and several others were shot in January.

Brian Hewlett, 45, a Pima Community College teacher was allegedly sitting in a yoga position, praying out loud and chanting at the store. Hewlett was booked into the Pima County jail. He has since been released.

And a Tucson man is behind bars for apparently trying to sell drugs near Palo Verde High School Thursday morning Wesley Vanhoesen, 25, had a BB gun on him that was seen by a witness who called the school, which then began a lock down TPD found the man after a short chase through a nearby neighborhood.

And a shooting Thursday afternoon at a midtown apartment put one person in the hospital. It happened near Grant Road and Dodge Boulevard.  No details have been released on the victim other than that he's in his 20s and expected to live.  And no word on a suspect.
