'Gabby' to run against GrijalvaPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- There could be two "Gabbys" representing Arizona in Congress, if Raul Grijalva's latest opponent is successful in beating him.
Republican Gabriela Saucedo Mercer, known as Gabby, officially began her campaign in congressional district 7 Wednesday.
Saucedo Mercer says she wants to focus on growing the economy and bringing new jobs to Arizona and for America.
"I'm just overwhelmed by the support that all the people that are here. I'm ready to start my campaign officially and I'm ready to get on with the program," said Gabriela Saucedo Mercer.
Saucedo Mercer was born in Mexico and immigrated to the U.S. legally in 1986. She and her husband Ted live on the west side of Tucson and have three adult children.
