Suspects lock woman in trunk, steal her car

MESA, Ariz. - Mesa police are looking for two suspects who locked a woman in the trunk of her car and drove off with her still in the vehicle.

The victim had just parked her car in a parking lot near Southern Avenue and Alma School Road and was walking to her apartment when she was confronted by two people at approximately 10 p.m. Wednesday.

One suspect was wearing a bandanna over his face and displayed a knife.

The suspects walked the victim out to her vehicle and had her open the car and start it. They then had the victim climb into the truck of her car and took her cell phone.

The suspects drove the car to the area of Westwood and Elena roads where they abandoned it. The victim was still locked in the trunk.

A Mesa officer located the car and released the victim from the trunk.

The victim received minor scrapes on her arms attempting to escape from the trunk.

The suspects are still outstanding. Police have not located the victim's cell phone.
