3 Tips to help you file your taxes onlinePosted: Updated:
PHOENIX – It's tax time, and more and more people are turning to the Internet to file.
Scott Pasmore talked to Anthony Goodman of Best Buy’s Geek Squad about some things you need to know.
Goodman said security is key. It’s essential that you get updated spyware detection, install security software and create passwords for your computer.
There are several services that offer online tax preparation. Goodman talked briefly about TaxSlayer.com, which is relatively new, and Intuit's TurboTax.com, which has been around for years. He suggested asking friends for recommendations and doing some research, pointing out that the Better business Bureau is an excellent resource.
Goodman also shared the Internal Revenue Service’s website – IRS.gov – stressing that it is a dot-gov address.
