Giffords informed of world news; Shooting victims honored at Tucson Rodeo Parade

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Congresswoman Gabby Giffords is staying up to date on the news of the world.

An article in the Houston Chronicle details how Chief of Staff Pia Carusone keeps Giffords in the loop on issues such as the protests in Libya, plus news from Arizona and Capitol Hill.

Doctors are waiting to tell her details of her own shooting until she's able to ask detailed questions.

And a solemn reminder Thursday at the Tucson Rodeo Parade of the incident that put the congresswoman in the hospital.

Handlers escorted six riderless horses along the route, each featuring a photo of one of the six people killed January 8.

Riding right behind were several members of Giffords' staff including shooting survivors Ron Barber and Pam Simon.
