YUMA, Ariz. (AP) -- A Marine reported missing from the Yuma area has resurfaced. A news release issued by the Marine Corps Air Station Yuma says Sgt. Jonathan Kyle Ferguson turned himself in to base authorities Wednesday evening.

Ferguson was reported missing Feb. 14.

The Yuma base says Ferguson is now in the custody of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service and a decision to pursue military or civilian legal action is pending final investigation results.

Ferguson's family says he was close to finishing his training.

Ferguson joined the Marines in July 2007 and is a Tactical Air Operations Module/Air Defense Technician attached to Marine Air Control Squadron 1.

The squadron recently completed a seven-month deployment in Afghanistan.
