Tucson shooting update: New Loughner pics; Grijalva tours UMC; Green benefit MLB ticketsPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- The U.S. Marshals service released two new photos Tuesday of Jared Loughner, the suspect in the mass shooting on Tucson's northwest side.
This is the first look at the photos that were taken at the time of his arrest by the Marshal service.
Defense attorney's opposed the move in court but a federal judge left the decision up to the Marshals.
Loughner is accused of gunning down six people and injuring 13 others on January 8 at the Safeway grocery store on Orcale Road at Ina.
And Tuesday was a somber day for Congressman Raul Grijalva, who for the first time, toured the ER center at UMC where his friend spent so much time.
And met many of the people who were instrumental in Congresswoman Giffords' recovery.
"The team work beginning with the paramedicas, first responders, the EMS folks that were a critical part, not only of January 8, but of every day and every situation that comes in,"
He got a first hand look at the halls his colleague was rushed through on the morning of january 8 and saw many of the same faces she saw over the course of her stay.
"What I learned today is about sustainability, the trauma unit and UMC and this part of Arizona," said Grijalva.
Grijalva kept away from the issue of the new health care bill and the related battle in Washington D.C., but he did address the importance UMC has played in this part of the state
And tickets went on sale Tuesday for the Major League Baseball Spring Training game to benefit the Christina-Taylor Green memorial fund.
The game is scheduled for March 7 at Kino Field between Arizona Diamondbacks and Chicago White Sox.
