TUSD leader delivers 'State of District' addressPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- First year TUSD Superintendent John Pedicone faced a crowd of dozens in the Catalina High School auditorium Tuesday night.
The gathering comes after two weeks of drama for the district, the result of narrow governing board votes that approved what amounts to wholesale staff changes at Rincon and Palo Verde high schools.
"The first objective, I think is to create a sense of urgency about what really is the issue, what are the issues and then its a matter of resolve, toward creating a path, a vision to getting those challenges addressed," said Pedicone.
Audience members also had the chance to break up into smaller groups and voice their concerns and suggestions to district representatives.
