PHOENIX – A Phoenix auto shop owner is behind bars after ICE agents found more than 900 pounds of pot in his shop.
After learning the shop near 39th Avenue and Indian School Road was being used to stash marijuana, agents served a search warrant on Friday. They seized 41 bundles of marijuana weighing about 940 pounds. They also discovered scales and wrapping materials.
The 40-year-old Mexican citizen who owns the shop was arrested. The man, who is here in the U.S. legally, faces smuggling charges.
The bust was part of an ongoing investigation linked to a marijuana smuggling ring.
