Lamb drumstick with ginger beer bbq sauce

Ginger Beer BBQ Sauce
2 1/2 cups sugar
3 ea 12 oz beers
4 cups  Bryan's Bbq Sauce
1 oz fresh ginger julienne
1 tsp lemon juice
1/8 tsp cardamom
1/8 tsp allspice
2 ea bay leaves

- Combine beer and sugar and simmer until reduced by half
- Add remaining ingredients and continue to simmer until sauce thickens
- Remove bay leaves and keep sauce warm
Lamb Shanks
4 Ea Lamb Shanks (approximately 1.5 lbs each)
2 oz spice rub (any bbq rub, salt and pepper)
- Season lamb with spice rub and grill indirectly until tender approx 1 1/2 hrs or place in smoker for approx 5 hrs
- When the shanks are tender remove from heat and slather on the ginger beer bbq sauce

Note: Shanks can be cooked in a slow cooker or oven if you don't have a smoker and don't want to grill the shanks.
