Mexican consulate in Tucson picketed by angry miners

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Some angry mine workers took to picketing Thursday morning.

The Mexican consulate on Stone Avenue got an ear full from the 50 or so protesters from the United Steel Workers Union.  They're upset about a tragic mine explosion that happened 5 years ago.

They say the Mexican government just sealed it off and left the workers to die.

They're asking Mexico's president to retrieve the bodies.

"Encourage them to ask Felipe Calderon to do the safety parts in the mine and human rights issues to stop the depression against unions in Mexico," said Manny Armenta from the United Steelworkers

The explosion happened in San Juan de Sabinas and trapped 65 miners.
