Chance of showers tonight and likely through the weekend

PHOENIX – Rain is in the air. While the high county is already seeing a little bit of snow from a system that’s moving through the state, we probably won’t see any rain until tomorrow and Sunday.

Plan on a high of 70 degrees today under mostly cloudy skies with breezes kicking up as the day goes on. Tomorrow, we should top out at just 65, and then 59 on Sunday.

There’s a slight chance we could see some showers tonight, but you will definitely want to have your umbrella handy if you’re going to be out an about Saturday. It’s going to be rainy and windy. Sustained winds will be in the 10- to 20-mph hours range, with gusts up to 35 mph.

Chance of rain will remain in the forecast Sunday, diminishing as the day goes on as everything clear out.

As we get into next week, our highs are going to top out in the mid- 60s. Overnight lows, especially Sunday night in Monday morning and Monday night into Tuesday morning, are going to drop to the upper 30s.
