Fatal fire in north side Tucson apartmentsPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- There was a fatal fire on Tucson's north side just before 5 P.M. Thursday.
Tucson firefighters were called to an apartment building near Campbell and Roger where a woman in her 60s died.
The fire started on the bottom floor apartment and spread to the second floor.
The family on the second floor was able to get out without any injuries.
"One apartment was completely destroyed and the other one had heavy smoke and flame damage in the inside. Luckily no body else was injured but this was a fatality that we had," said Captain Trish Tracy from the Tucson Fire Department.
This fatality comes just a day after a 3-year-old boy drowned in a neighbor's pool in Oro Valley.
