PHOENIX -- A 26-year-old man has been charged with murder after an argument turned deadly Monday afternoon.
Sgt. Steve Martos with the Phoenix Police Department said Blake Obadiah Adams and Maxwell Robert Henley, 27, were having a discussion in the front yard of a home near 17th Avenue and Cocopah Street, south of Buckeye Road.
Martos said the discussion became heated and Adams shot Henley several times. Henley was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses directed officers to the suspect, who was attempting to flee the neighborhood. Officers were able to detain Adams without incident.
Adams was arrested and charged with one count of second-degree murder.
Henley's family is holding a car wash on February 19 and 20 at 35th and Northern avenues starting at 8 a.m.
