4 Accused of stealing man's equipment after luring him to 'party'Posted: Updated:
GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Four individuals are under arrest for allegedly robbing and assaulting a man who was invited to a home under false pretenses.
Police say a 23-year-old Estrella resident was invited to play music at a party at a friend’s house.
When the victim entered the home with his guitar and amplifier, he was allegedly confronted by 19-year-old John Kucaba and two other juveniles before being knocked down and struck in the head.
Jason Thurman, 18, who was supposedly hosting the gathering, has been accused of setting the victim up for the theft.
The victim called Goodyear police to report the theft of his equipment. The victim also led police to Thurman’s house where Thurman and the two juveniles were taken into custody.
Detectives determined throughout the investigation that the stolen guitar and amplifier may be in a wash area nearby. A K9 officer was called out and located both items.
Kucaba was arrested Monday morning as he arrived home. He and the other two juveniles face aggravated robbery charges. Thurman will be charged with charges of conspiracy to commit robbery.
