PHOENIX - Police have arrested the person of interest in the murder of a Phoenix woman after he was caught driving her car.

On Friday, police said they were looking for Wade Ridley, 53, as a person of interest in the murder of his ex-girlfriend, Anne Marie Simenson.

Ridley became a suspect over the weekend and was arrested in Las Vegas early Sunday morning.

Las Vegas Metro Police officers pulled Ridley over in Simenson's vehicle and detained him.

During questioning he admitted involvement in the homicide and also a subsequent robbery shortly after at a Safeway pharmacy nearby.

Ridley also admitted to an attempted homicide, which occurred in Las Vegas prior to the homicide of Simenson.

Phoenix police received a 911 call last Thursday from a friend who was supposed to meet Simenson just before 4 p.m. That friend found Simenson's body inside her home on the 28600 block of 46th Place.

Officers who arrived on the scene a short time later said there were obvious signs of trauma, but they declined to go into detail.

Simenson, 62, lived at the home with her current boyfriend.

Ridley is being held in Las Vegas on local charges.
