Retired U.S. Marshall plans to challenge Dupnik in Pima CountyPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- A retired U.S. Marshall reportedly plans to challenge Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik for his job.
Conservative groups expect Walter Setzer to run against Dupnik in 2012. The retired U.S. Marshall has received support from the Tea Party Patriots, who also support an effort to recall Dupnik.
"I was in Texas during the shootings and I saw Sheriff Dupnik on TV making statements blaming the right wing radicals and talk radio and then calling Arizonans bigots and racists I thought it was way over the top," said Setzer
Dupnik has been sheriff for 31 years.
