Cave Creek man pleads guilty in woman's deathPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX (AP) -- A Cave Creek man has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and arson of an occupied structure in the death of a 29-year-old woman in the summer of 2008.
Maricopa County Superior Court said Thursday that sentencing is set for May 13 for 28-year-old Justin Wade Lunsford.
Deputies found the body of Mary Elizabeth Polgar inside her burning home on July 8, 2008 in a part of the home untouched by the fire.
Homicide detectives said that Polgar suffered extensive knife wounds and had not been dead long.
The investigation indicated that Polgar was last seen alive the night of July 7, leaving a local Cave Creek bar with Lunsford.
