PHOENIX - Carl Mosher, a teacher at St. Gregory's Catholic School, is behind bars after allegedly having sexual contact with a 14-year-old student.

The victim's parents contacted police on Friday after learning of a sexual relationship between their daughter and the 32-year-old suspect. According to court paperwork, Mosher was a close family friend and a member of the victim's church.

Mosher is a physical education teacher at St. Gregory's Catholic School located near 19th Avenue and Osborn Road where the victim is in eighth grade.

Phoenix police Sgt. Steve Martos said the relationship began in December when the victim was 13 years old and continued until this month.

Detectives determined the contact between the student and Mosher took place in his office on school grounds.

Court paperwork also stated the victim's mother called Mosher to question him and he admitted to having sexual intercourse and performing oral sex on her daughter.

Mosher is charged with four counts of sexual conduct with a minor.

Investigators said there is nothing to suggest there are other victims.
