CROWN KING, Ariz. -- Two bodies found inside a truck near Crown King Friday morning are believed to be a Goodyear man and his ex-girlfriend who were reported missing on Thursday.

Goodyear police began searching for Thomas Watson, 47, Thursday morning after a note indicted that he was despondent and left instructions on disposing of his property.

Police said Watson became very distraught after an argument and subsequent breakup with Tara Shermerhorn, 31.

Watson was last seen in his blue 1999 Ford F-150.

On Thursday afternoon, police were notified that Shermerhorn was missing and learned that she may have been abducted by Watson.

Shermerhorn was last seen at her workplace at about 9 p.m. Wednesday. Family members said she failed to pick up her niece as usual on Thursday and her car was found at her house.

Police picked up Watson's mobile phone signal Wednesday night near Interstate 17 north of Phoenix. The phone was later shut off.

Authorities also picked up a signal from Shermerhorn's cell phone and it appeared to have been left near the Crown King area in Yavapai County.

Shortly after 10 a.m. Friday, deputies found the truck near Horse Thief Basin, according to Cmdr. Ralph McLaughlin with the Goodyear Police Department. Two bodies that appear to be Watson and Shermerhorn were found inside the truck.

McLaughlin said family members have been notified.

The manner of death has not been determined at this time.

The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office and Goodyear Police Department continue to investigate.
