PHOENIX -- Entertainer Ryan O'Connor, who grew up in Arizona and professes to be "an Arizonan at heart," stopped by 3TV to talk about his experience on "Your OWN Show: Oprah's Search for the Next TV Star."

Last year, O'Connor wrapped up a national tour of his successful one-man show, "Ryan O'Connor Eats His Feelings."

The 29-year-old, who now calls West Hollywood home, was selected from some 15,000 applicants to be one of the 10 contestants on "Your OWN Show."

"This country needs a gay best friend, and that's where I come in," O'Connor said on his "Your OWN Show" profile page.

So, what kind of show does O'Connor envision for himself?

"If a variety show and a traditional talk show had a baby, that'd be my show," he said. "[It would be] basically 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' meets 'The Carol Burnett Show' with a splash of 'Glee'."

O'Connor and fellow competitor Terey Summers, also an Arizonan, are hosting a joint viewing party of the show tonight at The Blue Moose.
