MSCO investigates employee identity theft at Phoenix businessPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX - Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies served a search warrant at a business for possible employee identity theft.
According to MCSO, detectives were searching for records and information relating to up to 28 employees who they believe are using false identification in order to gain employment with Great Western Erectors.
Great Western Erectors is located at the intersection of Washington and 26th streets.
MCSO received a tip from an employee that there may be illegal workers at the business.
Deputies took 10 people into custody.
MCSO said they thought there would be more people there at the time of the raid because it was payday, but because the company's main office is in Dallas the weather prevented the checks from getting to Phoenix.
The business manager from Great Western Erectors told 3TV they do use E-Verify.
