TEMPE, Ariz. – An autopsy was conducted on a body pulled from Tempe Town Lake believed to be of a missing 24-year-old man.

Tempe police have tentatively identified the body as that of Willie Jigba, who disappeared after leaving a house party near Scottsdale Road and Weber Drive on Jan. 15.

Investigators say the body did not have signs of trauma and preliminary findings indicate the victim might have drowned.

A final cause of death will not be released until toxicology reports are completed.

The Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office is waiting on dental records, which could take several days, in order to positively confirm the identity of the victim.

The case is being handled by police as a death investigation. Tempe police say they have no reason to believe the death was a result of foul play.
