TEMPE, Ariz. -- Divers recovered a body from Tempe Town Lake Friday morning and police say it could be a man who has been missing for nearly two weeks.

Members of the Tempe Fire Department Dive Team recovered the body at approximately 10:35 a.m.

According to Tempe police Sgt. Steve Carbajal, the physical description of the body matches that of Willie Jigba, 24.

Jigba was last seen at a party at the Sotelo Apartments near Scottsdale Road and Weber Drive on Jan. 15. The party was broken up by police just before 3 a.m. Jigba left the party alone and reportedly had to pass by Tempe Town Lake on his 2.5-mile walk home.

Members of Jigba's family contacted the Tempe Police Department after he did not report to his first day at a new job and they were unable to contact him.

A volunteer group called Find Me joined the search effort, bringing in specially trained dogs to sniff for Jigba's scent. Divers had been searching the lake the past couple of days after the dogs picked up a human scent.

The Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office responded to the scene and will exam the body to confirm the identity.

Carbajal said an investigation is under way to determine the facts and circumstances surrounding the death.
