El Gero Canelo expanding to Tucson's east sidePosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- One of Tucson's most popular spots to grab a Sonoran hot dog plans to expand.
El Güero Canelo will soon open a third location on East 22nd Street.
The new restaurant is expected to open in may or june and will employ twenty-five to forty-five people.
"The reason I expand to the east side is because I have a lot of customers from the east side. They've been asking me for years and years and I was keeping promise, promise, promise, and finally we... we got a building to do it now," said owner Daniel Contreras.
The restaurant is known for its carne asada and their Sonoran hot dogs.
The owner hope to eventually expand into northwest Tucson and Phoenix.
