Phoenix analyst: State of the Union a 'lost opportunity' for President ObamaPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Less than 24 hours after President Barack Obama's State of the Union address, everyone from Wall Street to Main Street is talking about education, unity, the future and money.
Political expert Kurt Davis from First Strategic and Barry Broome, president and CEO of the Great Phoenix Economic Council shared their opinions on the speech with Tara Hitchcock and Kaley O'Kelley on "Good Morning! Arizona."
Davis said he thought it was the "worst big speech of Obama's presidency."
"He was flat last night," Davis said. "It was a lost opportunity for the president in my opinion. He just did not step up to his usual standard of being truly one of the great orators we've seen as president."
"I think it was very much a centrist speech and ... maybe his heart wasn't completely in a centrist message," Broome agreed.
