WASHINGTON -- The intern hailed as a hero for saving the life of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords will be sitting with first lady Michelle Obama tonight when President Barack Obama delivers his State of the Union address.
Daniel Hernandez, who is celebrating his 21st birthday today, talked to Tara Hitchcock about being in the national spotlight since the Jan. 8 shooting in Tucson.
The parents of Christina Green, the 9-year-old girl who was killed in the massacre, will also be there, as will Dr. Peter Rhee, the chief of trauma at University Medical Center in Tucson.
Giffords' husband Mark Kelly was invited, but opted to stay with Giffords in Houston.
The Arizona delegation will sit together, around an empty seat to signify Giffords' absence.
