Loughner in court MondayPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Accused Tucson shooter Jared Loughner is set to make a second court appearance Monday at the federal courthouse in downtown Phoenix.
The 22-year-old was indicted last week on three counts for allegedly attempting to kill Congresswoman Giffords, and two of her aides. Monday will be a preliminary hearing where the evidence against loughner will be presented.
Investigators have been pouring over surveillance video, interviewing witnesses and analyzing items seized from Loughner's home.
The case will most likely take years to play out in the criminal justice system with prosecutions by both federal and state authorities, change of venue, and a possible insanity defense by Loughner's lawyers.
