3 Wounded in Phoenix shooting; 2 suspects on the loosePosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Two armed men remain on the loose after shooting three people on a Central Phoenix street Friday afternoon.
It happened in the neighborhood of 16th and Van Buren streets. According to police, three Hispanic males -- one on a bike and two walking -- were passing an auto-body shop across the street from the Goodwill main campus when they were confronted by two Hispanic males.
Words were exchanged. The argument got heated, ending when the suspects pulled out guns and shot the three victims.
One was seriously wounded. The other two suffered less serious injuries.
Even though they were wounded, the three victims -- believed to be 15, 18 and 20 years old -- ran from the scene. One of them collapsed about a block away.
Police locked down the neighborhood, including the Goodwill main campus, to search for the shooters but they did not turn up anything.
No details about the suspects were immediately available.
