BUCKEYE, Ariz. -- One person was killed and three others, including two young children, were hurt in a single-vehicle wreck on Interstate 10 between Johnson and Palo Verde roads in Buckeye.

According to the Department of Public Safety, a 2006 Dodge Dakota pickup veered off the road and rolled over while traveling east on the highway shortly before 7:30 a.m. Thursday.

The middle-aged woman who was behind the wheel was ejected. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

A 30-year old man was also ejected. He suffered serious injuries.

Two children -- an 8-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy -- were also in the truck when it crashed. Their injuries were not life threatening.

The man and both of the kids were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix.

Officer Robert Bailey of the Department of Public Safety said nobody in the truck was wearing a seat belt.

Aerial video from the scene showed the pickup in the dirt about 150 feet south of the highway's eastbound lanes. The front of the truck was badly damaged. Bailey said the pickup rolled several times.

It's not clear what caused the driver to veer off the highway.

Investigators have not released the names of any of the victims.
