New details emerge on attack of Rep. Giffords as investigation continues

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Doctors say congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords continues to improve both physically and neurologically. This, just a little over a week after being shot in the head at near point blank range.

Giffords remains in serious condition at University Medical Center in Tucson. One other shooting victim is also still hospitalized. We're told that person is in good condition.

New disturbing details are emerging about the attack on Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.

The shooting spree was all caught on Safeway store surveillance video, now in the hands of the FBI.

The Pima County Sheriff's investigators report the video shows the congresswoman being shot above the eyebrow, from about three feet away.

That's right before the gunman opens fire on everyone else from similar range.

And Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik defended his previous statements blaming angry political rhetoric for inciting violence.

"I still feel that way. It's been introduced, for example, in gun control, we now have legislation introduced that will allow students and teachers to carry concealed weapons on campus, and from my point of view that's just insane. "

Dupnik admits he has no evidence Jared Loughner listened to any political talk radio before the shooting.
