More details about alleged gunman Loughner from people who met him

TUCSON, Ariz. -- As the days go on following last weekend's mass shooting, we're learning more and more about the suspected gunman, Jared Loughner.

A tattoo artist on 4th Avenue met Loughner when he came into the shop in October and asked for a tattoo of a bullet.

Employees at the Sacred Art Tattoo shop on 4th Avenue see all sorts of people walk in their door.

"We come in contact with a lot of different people. This is 4th Avenue," said tattoo artist Brittney Ramirez.

But ever since the mass shooting in Tucson a little more than a week ago, one customer in particular stands out for Ramirez.

"He just said he wanted a bullet tattooed on to him. He wanted the 9 mm bullet tattooed," said Ramirez.

She's talking about the suspected gunman Jared Loughner.

He came into the shop October 19 holding a 9 mm bullet, the same type used in the shooting, and asked one of Brittney's co-workers to tattoo a gray and black picture of it on his right shoulder blade.

"When we asked him why he wanted it um all he could do was kind of smile at us and then he said he liked to shoot," said Ramirez.

For the next half hour, Brittney sat at the station right next to Loughner and her co-worker.

"The only thing I can remember is he could only talk about how he knew how to control his dreams," said Ramirez.

At the time, Brittney thought the topic was a little strange, but she didn't think Loughner's request for a bullet tattoo was unusual.

A lot of people in the military will come in and get bullets tattooed on them just as many times as they've been to Iraq or Afghanistan.

Three months later, as employees at sacred art tattoo put the story together, they're analyzing Loughner's visit and even his exit.

"He had said thank you once already and he started to walk away and he came back and he made it like a point to stop and make eye contact with the guy, shook his hand and said thank you again and walked away," said Ramirez.

Brittney says Loughner came back to Sacred Art Tattoo a second time and got another tattoo of a 9mm bullet.
